The alleged mastermind behind the June shooting of Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay has been arrested by authorities.
Elder José Arteaga Hernández, also known as “Chipi” or “Costeño”, was captured in Bogotá following a month-long investigation.
Uribe, a vocal critic of President Petro and a 2026 presidential hopeful, remains hospitalized after the attack.
The arrest of Arteaga, accused of attempted murder and other offenses, is a significant development in the ongoing case.
